Onduline is a roofing and waterproofing manufacturer founded in France. The company marked its 80th anniversary in 2024, placing its origins in the mid-1940s, and is headquartered at Suresnes, on the western edge of Paris. Onduline Group states that it is present in more than 100 countries and operates around 30 national websites.

Products

The company's best-known product is its range of lightweight corrugated roofing sheets sold under the ONDULINE brand. The company states that its sheets contain between 45 and 51 percent recycled material. Its range also includes:

  • ONDUVILLA: roofing tiles in panel form, imitating traditional tiles.
  • BARDOLINE: asphalt (bitumen) shingles.
  • BITULINE: waterproofing membranes.
  • ONDUCLAIR: translucent and opaque plastic sheets, in polyester and polycarbonate, used for rooflights and canopies.
  • ISOLINE: under-roofing sheets laid beneath tiles.
  • FONDALINE: a product for below-ground and foundation protection.

Manufacturing

The company's production is international. In November 2024 it opened a new plant at Pasuruan in East Java, Indonesia.

Use

Corrugated roofing sheets of this lightweight type are installed with nails or screws and caps through the crowns of the corrugations, with overlaps at sides and ends to shed water. Manufacturers specify minimum roof pitches, purlin spacings and fixing patterns for each product, and these differ from the requirements for metal or fibre-cement sheets.

Ownership

The company's own website does not identify its owner.

Translucent sheets

Polycarbonate and polyester sheets such as those in the ONDUCLAIR range are used to bring daylight into canopies, carports, greenhouses and farm buildings, often combined with opaque sheets of matching profile.
