Kingspan Group is an Irish manufacturer of insulated building envelope products, headquartered in Kingscourt, County Cavan. It was founded in 1965 by Eugene Murtagh, reportedly starting in a yard behind his family's pub, and is led by his son Gene Murtagh as chief executive. Kingspan trades in more than 80 countries and operates over 270 sites. Its primary share listing is on Euronext Dublin; its London listing was cancelled in 2023.

Divisions

Kingspan reports several divisions: Insulated Panels (its largest, at roughly half of turnover), Insulation boards, Light, Air and Water, Data Solutions, and Roofing and Waterproofing.

Roofing activities

Insulated metal panels for roofs and walls of industrial, commercial and agricultural buildings are Kingspan's best-known product. These panels bond a foam insulation core between two steel skins and are installed in one pass; product lines include QuadCore panels and, from 2025, PowerPanel, a roof panel supplied with factory-fitted solar photovoltaic modules.

In 2022 Kingspan built a dedicated Roofing and Waterproofing division around its acquisition of the waterproofing business Ondura (about EUR 516 million). It added the Belgian bituminous membrane maker Derbigum in 2022 and CaPlast in 2023, took a controlling stake in Nordic Waterproofing in 2024 (later raised to about 63 percent), bought 90 percent of the US PVC membrane maker IB Roof Systems in 2024, and acquired the UK roofing and cladding firm Coverworld in 2025.

Other acquisitions

Earlier milestones include the purchase of CRH's European insulation business in 2011, parts of ThyssenKrupp's construction business in 2012, and the Belgian panel maker Joris Ide in 2015.
