Professional Roofing

Professional Roofing is a monthly magazine published by the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) in the United States. It is NRCA's official publication and is available in print and online at professionalroofing.net, with a free subscription option for the magazine and its e-newsletter.

The magazine aims to provide timely and objective information to roofing professionals. Regular sections include:

• News + Views – industry news and opinion;
• Research + Tech – technical articles on roof systems, materials and research;
• Rules + Regs – coverage of building codes, safety rules and legislation;
• departments such as Close-up, New Ideas, Briefings and Details.

Topics range across roofing trends, business management, insurance, safety, new products and NRCA's own resources. Issues often feature specific roof systems and projects. For example, the October 2026 issue covered green roofs, metal roofing, a roofing project for the National Medal of Honor Museum and quality control on commercial low-slope roofs.

Audience

Readers include roofing contractors, especially owners and managers of commercial and residential roofing firms, as well as consultants, architects, manufacturers and distributors. Because it is published by NRCA, the magazine reflects the association's technical positions and advocacy priorities, and it often reports on NRCA's manuals, training and government relations.
