The International Roofing Expo (IRE) is an annual trade show and conference for the roofing industry, held in the United States. The show's organisers say it has more than 65 years of history. It is run by Informa Markets, a division of Informa PLC. The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) is the official show sponsor, and Roofing Contractor magazine is the official show publication. Its website is theroofingexpo.com.
Format
The expo combines an exhibit hall with an education programme. Exhibitors include manufacturers of roofing materials, equipment, tools, software, vehicles and safety products. Attendees are mainly roofing contractors, along with distributors, consultants, architects, building owners and facility managers.
The education programme includes seminars, workshops and product demonstrations on technical topics, business management, safety and workforce. NRCA holds events and education sessions as part of the show.
Location
The show rotates among large U.S. convention cities. The 2027 edition is scheduled for 16-18 February 2027 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, West Hall, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Role in the industry
Trade shows like IRE are where many new roofing products are introduced and where contractors meet suppliers. They also host awards, association meetings and networking events. Other North American roofing events include regional shows run by state and regional contractor associations, such as the Texas Roofing Conference and the conventions of the Western States Roofing Contractors Association and the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association.
International counterparts
In Europe, major events for the roofing trade include DACH+HOLZ International in Germany, BAU in Munich for the wider building materials market, and Batimat in France. Many countries also hold national roofing exhibitions linked to their contractor associations.
