Concrete roof tile

Eagle Roofing Products is a North American manufacturer of concrete roof tile. It was founded in the autumn of 1989 by Robert Burlingame in Rialto, California, and is a division of Burlingame Industries, owned by the Burlingame family. The company's corporate office remains in Rialto.

Operations

Eagle operates four manufacturing plants serving the United States and Canada. Its Rialto plant is described by the company as the largest concrete tile plant in North America. The business has grown from five employees at its founding to more than 500. It has also opened satellite distribution yards in recent years.

Products

Concrete roof tile is made from a mix of sand, cement and water that is extruded or pressed into shape, cured, and finished with colour. Eagle produces:

  • Tiles in seven profiles, from flat to high-barrel (S-shaped) designs.
  • More than 150 colours and blends, with availability varying by region.
  • Conventional-weight and lightweight tiles; lightweight tiles reduce dead load on the roof structure, which can matter when replacing lighter roof coverings.
  • Specialty installation patterns such as staggered and boosted (raised-butt) layouts used to imitate hand-laid clay or shake.

Under the name Secure Roof Components it supplies related components and systems, such as underlayments and fastening products.

Regulation and testing

Several Eagle tile products have been approved for Florida's Miami-Dade high-velocity hurricane zone, one of the most demanding wind regimes in North American building codes. Concrete tile is common on homes in California, Arizona, Nevada, Florida and other warm regions of the US.

Warranty

The company offers a lifetime transferable limited product warranty on its tile.
